NordlichtArt was founded in 2017 by the siblings Anna and Leif Ziebarth.

The idea of designing and manufacturing cosmetic products came about when we went to the drugstore just before going on vacation, trying to buy a shampoo that was environmentally friendly and a good travel companion. Finding something suitable turned out to be quite difficult and that's when we decided to produce our own shampoo in the future. So, after an extensive research and the first tests, we created our first ShampooBar, which soon became the Grüner Klabautermann.

Our main demands on the shampoo - and later also on all other products - were the following:

• no plastic packaging - because our oceans are very important to us
• suitable for hand luggage - so that it can be present on every journey
• biodegradable - to not unnecessarily polluting the sewage and to avoid having to miss out on any outdoor adventure
• made of natural ingredients - for chemical-free skin and hair care
  

The maritime touch of the products comes from the fact that we like to spend time in, on and around the sea and see it as a mission to  keep the oceans a clean.
